I think so. Someplace is always looking for a teacher. You won't get rich and you may have to relocate though.

There are always jobs for teachers you just have to be willing to relocate where the job needs you to be.

You should do what you love. Teaching historically has good job security which is why teachers being laid off is usually big news. Don't pick your profession based on job security though, do what you love. If you want to teach you should, the world will always need teachers.

depends on the level of teaching and the course you wanna teach, first have u heard of college professors being laid off or high school science teachers. why? because we always need one of them. i cant quaratee you a job security with middle schoolar/ elemetry teaching . why? because one teacher can teach all the subject single handedly , its that easy.i will like to be a professor so am going for my doctorate degree in nursing, nothing can stop me not even the fear of being laid off in the future.
tips: be a high school teacher or a college teacher (if you reach the end of your rope, then tie a knot. Goodluck)

Depends on where you live or are willing to relocate to and what kind of school you will teach in. Most people want to teach in rich suburbs near big cities, but rural schools and poor inner-city schools are the ones most desperate for teachers.
Teachers' unions are generally pretty strong and once you get tenure, you're solid for the most part. Everyone knows a few teachers who have been teaching for like forty years...you won't find many people working for the same company that long unless they own it.
A word of warning, though...a LOT of teachers only last a year or two. Many people go into teaching with an idealistic attitude that they'll be the kind of teacher you see in movies, making a difference and inspiring people. Then they start work, realize that the kids are either indifferent or want to use the teacher as straight man in their little comedy act to impress their friends, and they end up disillusioned and depressed.
