J-kidd Finally At Dallas?
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=Ar…
Sending J-Kidd for Diop, Stack, Gerorge, Ager and devin harris. However Stack is expected to be bought out by nets and in 1 month be resigned by the mavs. There are other parts of the deal but basically in 1 months time the teams would look like this.
Dallas:
J-Kidd
Malik Allen
Antoine Wright
Jerry Stackhouse
Nets:
Devin Harris
Devin George
Maurice Ager
DeSagna Diop
A truckload of draft picks
Have the Mav’s been made better if this trade goes through?

ROFL another knee jerk reaction by a Western Conference team to the Lakers trade and trying to keep up with them. There goes the Mavericks’ bench and their 3 point shooting
Kidd is a stat machine and grabs rebounds and runs out in the break but sucks at shooting from the perimeter and shooting 3s where he will be most needed. who do the Mavs have to run with Kidd? Only Josh Howard, that is it
Dirk would much rather park himself in the 3 point line
And they don’t have any other athletic finishers on the team.
Jason Terry is on the decline and it looks like he will be there Shootin Guard and he is also a strictly perimeter player
Eric Dampier is inconsistent and he is getting old and always deals with injuries…so the Mavs are going even smaller and giving up Diop and taking a PF to pair up with Brandon Bass? LMFAO
They also gave up 2 future first round picks…i know its kinda meaningless becaue they might be in the late 20s but if Kidd’s bad back starts acting up and this team goes nowhere then Kidd’s big fat contrax puts the Mavs in Salary Cap hell and now they have an aging super start taking up a lot of space in their payroll while the future picks will be benefiting New Jersey in the deep drafts coming up
There goes their only quality and young future PG who they were planning on developing….The Mavs won’t get past the first round FSHO and they have mortgaged their future in the process and the next few season spells doom for Dallas
Great trade for the Nets…they build for the future and they also get a solid big man in Diop along with plenty of expiring contracts that provide cap space to look for free agents over the summer that they can acquire and build around (Arenas, Brand, Jamison, Marion, Artest, etc)
This creates a nightmare for the NBA because the talent level has gone significantly up in the West now and its stacked with more all stars…talking about all stars, does Kidd play on the West team or the East team now that he’s already voted in as the starter of the East???? Thats a headache the league is gonna have to deal with for the next couple of days
– If you want my opinion the Nets got the better deal NOT THE MAVS but oh well…
if they can keep stackhouse, they will be alright. however if they can’t, they could be in trouble. as much as i like kidd, i didn’t like the news when devin harris was included then i read on further and saw stackhouse was involved. this would take 2 great players from the mavs for one. if they can get stack back, it’s a good trade
ya i think it was a good trade for both teams. harris can be built around to create a great team. there are rumors that carter is gonna be dealt to indiana for oneal. so we might see the brooklyn nets in the playoffs next year
Nets:
devin harris
2009 draft pick
richard jefferson
stromile swift
jermaine oneal
It’s a dumb trade and I hope Dallas does it because I hate them. Dallas would give up too much! GO LAKERS!!!!
mavs bad move #1: trading AWAY jason kidd
mavs bad move #2: trading AWAY steve nash
mavs bad move #3: current idiot trade to get kidd back now that his tires are worn down, running on fumes, NEVER HAD A CONSISTENT JUMP SHOT.
jason kidd’s defender will be allowed to double team and cause havoc cause he has NO OUTSIDE SHOOTING SKILLS. the ONLY thing you need is a good defender on the backside in-case he begins to penetrate when the ball is rotated.
devin harris is/was that mavs future at point.
Not so much because they’re losing an emerging player in Devin Harris, and they’re losing a lot of their depth. Do they get a good player in Kidd? Absolutely. But does it guarantee they will be a better TEAM? No. Michael Wilbon on Pardon The Interruption said it perfectly today: The Mavs were not great at defense last season when they lost to Golden State in the playoffs, and they weren’t good at it this year. Now, you trade away some of your young stars, for a guy, who will put up offensive numbers, but greatly depletes your defense, and I guarantee you they will not like the idea of trying to beat a Phoenix or Golden State team, in a shootout, in the playoffs again.
