City, State, Providence that won more than 1 Pro sports championship in the same year?

Monday, May 10th, 2010

I remember in 1999, the Dallas Stars won the cup in the same year as the San Antonio Spurs won the NBA title. Both teams in Texas.

NYC came close in 1994 when the Rangers won the CUP and the New York Knicks lost Game 7 to the Houston Rockets.

In case your wondering, only one pro sprts title in Arizona. The D’backs in 2001 over the New York Yankees. But I still believe a Cup will come to Phoenix before an NBA title.
Boomans The Suns werent the same when Marion was traded for Shaq. They are getting older, Mike Anotni could be fired. But yea, The 76ers gave the Pistons a good scare there, the same with Atlanta and Boston.
Boomaus not Boomans LOL sorry
Bill LOL

Live is good, but we have too many stats as it is. LOL

Who is the rich villain in your town or city?

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

Every town or city has a rich villain, like J R Ewing from the tv show ‘Dallas’, or Stephano Dimeira from ‘Days of our Lives’. They get rich by making borderline legal business deals and don’t care who they step on to accomplish their goals. In my hometown its Joseph V Butler. So, who is the rich villain in your town?

How To Send Packages From Dallas, Tx To Mexico City Cheaper Than Ups/fedex/dhl/usps?

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

I am trying to send merchandise and gifts to Mexico City via non-traditional courier service. I have heard that there are people who are in the business of transporting packages on their vans or trucks on their weekly, bi-weekly or even monthly trips to Mexico. They charge reasonable rates $20-30 per box, but I haven’t been able to find them in the Plano, North Dallas area (or even the DFW Metroplex). Does anyone know someone who you have heard of or used their services to transport stuff to Mexico City cheaper than FedEx, DHL, or UPS (or USPS for what is worth)? Any help with contact information will be appreciated. Regards and happy holidays!

Arlington, texas News Flash City Will Announce The Integration Of Wi-fi Covering 90% Of City.free!whatcha Think

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

The contract requires 90% coverage in the city limits, with service at all municipal buildings, parks, lakes, and schools. The dervice is intended to allow free internet access to as many Arlington residents as possible with focus on students, low income and those that cannot afford the services of commercial ISP’s. The official announcement will drown out the bragging rights of the city of Dallas which recently rolled out its downtown Wi-Fi service. I feel this is very exciting and will further serve to “put Arlington on the map”. What do you think?

Which City Do You Consider To Be The Largest: Dallas Or Houston?

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

heres my take, which seems pretty rational: dallas is a very large, diverse, and cosmopolitan city and is home to more Fortune 500 companies than any other city in the nation.
Besides it being a business “mecca”, it also has some of the best shopping and dining in the nation, with more restaurants per capita than even NYC.
Also, dallas is the fourth largest metro in the nation. It’s home to over 6.7 million people and is only smaller than new york, los angeles, and chicago.
Although Houston has the largest city proper in the state, dallas is home to the largest metro area, and has a lot more high-quality suburbs. I think the houston area is home to about 5.8 million people as opposed to dallas 6.7?
Also, the reason why more people live in the houston city proper is because houston has about twice as much land as DAL does, so more room for people to live. but dallas is more densely populated, and more people live in the dallas area. Lets hear opinions on both sides!
