Mark Cuban is starting his own MMA organization called the WCL (World Combat League). His business tactics and emotions have been both questioned and praised during his ownership of the Dallas Mavericks. Do you think him entering the business world of MMA is going to help its overall growth or is it going to hinder it? He hired Guy Metzger to run the day to day happenings and says that he will start treating the fighters like professional athletes. So do you think the WCL will be able to compete with UFC, or will it be gone in a few years, or will it be one of the hundreds of new organizations that have recently popped up and just be a “farm league” for the new talent? Please explain your answer.
Correction: I got my leagues mixed up. WCL is still Chuck Norris’s fighting competition. Mark Cuban’s at this time is under his HDNet company. It doesn’t seem like it has an “official” name as of yet.

i live in Dallas but am a die hard Piston fan, and it really makes my day to see Mark Cuban miserable and yelling because he knows that no matter how much money he throws into the team… THEY STILL SUCK!!! the same with Jerry Jones. he doesnt get as upset as Cuban, but when a guy will go as far as signing the known “criminal” of the NFL just to try to improve his team, it just sets him up to look like an ASS when they still get kicked out in the first round. Dallas sports in general are a joke. everyone here “loves” the team until they lose a game, and then they hate them and are screaming fire them!

perfect example, last night, mavs down by 15 with 5 MINUTES LEFT… and the place empties out. dont get me wrong, i knew they wouldnt come back. but if you’re a die hard fan you’re gonna stand by them until the end. PERIOD!

such a bandwagon city.

A few moments ago Mr. Cuban held a press conference to address the rumors. In his own words, this was his statement:
“Although I am deeply into sports, I wanted to venture into other things. While visiting the Brookfield Zoo, I became aware that new cubs had recently been born. I offered the zoo an undisclosed sum to take ownership of a couple of the cubs and take them with me to Dallas. Hours later I started hearing reports that I had purchased the Cubs. I was as surprised as everyone else.”
