Why do people say that Boston is the worst place to live for a sports fan?

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010

I mean, if any city, it is most definitely Dallas. Let’s take a look:

Baseball – The Red Sox went 86 years without a championship, but at least they have won! The Rangers have never gotten past mediocre, never winning a championship, or really even doing anything in the playoffs. The Red Sox have won 2 world series in the past five years, and the Yankees haven’t even won a championship since 2000. But the Rangers have not won ANY.

Football – The Patriots in the new millennium: went from bad to Super Bowl, then bad, then Super Bowl, then Super Bowl, then AFC Championship Game, etc. Then they become the first team in NFL History to to go 16 – 0, set countless records, and all we hear is whining from Boston because they didn’t win the Super Bowl. The Cowboys, on the other hand, haven’t won a single playoff game in what, like 10 years or more, let alone a Super Bowl. Even this year, after going 13 – 3 and dominating their conference, they lost their first game.
Basketball – The Celtics have won by far the most NBA championships in NBA History. This year they have dominated, and things are looking really, really good. The Mavericks went all the way to the Finals against an outmatched opponent, went up 2 – 0, then fell victim to the worst officiating/collapse the sports world has seen. The next year they win 67 games, then lose in the first round to the Warriors. This year they fail to get out of the first round yet again, this time falling victim to the inexperienced Hornets.

There, I covered the three major sports. Now who has better reason to complain? Dallas fans, or Boston fans?

Do the LA Lakers have the most fans in the 4 major pro sports?

Monday, May 10th, 2010

There were so many people at that parade… and you can’t forget about all of the Laker fans in other states and worldwide. So do they have the most fans out of the NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL? The only franchise that I think might have more fans are the Dallas Cowboys.
Damn… I can’t believe i forgot about the Yankees. considering I’m a fan…
#1 Rockets Fan – I live in NY and believe me, there are A LOT of Knicks fans here. Why do you think they still make the headlines even though they’ve been terrible for nearly a decade

Who do you think is a bigger disappointment in sports, Rex Grossman of the NFL or Kwame Brown of the NBA?

Monday, May 10th, 2010

Rex Grossman is well know for fumbling the football, getting sacked, and being one of the top NFL leaders in interceptions thrown. He had his @ss handed to him in Super Bowl XIL, throwing two interceptions in a 29-17 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Rex was eventually benched and replaced by Brian Greise after the Chicago Bears suffered a 34-10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in week four of the 2007-2008 regular season. He was responsible for throwing three interceptions in that game. Being the worse quarterback to play in a Super Bowl, Rex will always be criticized in the NFL.
Kwame Brown is a very clumsy NBA center, well known for losing the basketball in the lane. Spending three seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, the organization was finally fed up with his performance. With Kwame’s lack of effort and inability to either defend the painted area or become a scoring threat, the Lakers chose to give up on him. They were very fortunate to get Pau Gasol from the Memphis Grizzles in a trade to dump that worthless bum. Michael Jordan will always be criticized for picking Kwame as the number one draft pick for the Washington Wizards.

City, State, Providence that won more than 1 Pro sports championship in the same year?

Monday, May 10th, 2010

I remember in 1999, the Dallas Stars won the cup in the same year as the San Antonio Spurs won the NBA title. Both teams in Texas.

NYC came close in 1994 when the Rangers won the CUP and the New York Knicks lost Game 7 to the Houston Rockets.

In case your wondering, only one pro sprts title in Arizona. The D’backs in 2001 over the New York Yankees. But I still believe a Cup will come to Phoenix before an NBA title.
Boomans The Suns werent the same when Marion was traded for Shaq. They are getting older, Mike Anotni could be fired. But yea, The 76ers gave the Pistons a good scare there, the same with Atlanta and Boston.
Boomaus not Boomans LOL sorry
Bill LOL

Live is good, but we have too many stats as it is. LOL

What makes a fan, a true fan of a sports team?

Sunday, May 9th, 2010

Analyze this. I hate bandwagon fans, but when do you cross the line from bandwagon to being at least a legit fan of a team? What factors are in play? I am a Texas Tech/Dallas Cowboy fan since birth. Parents graduated from Tech, raised a Cowboy. I think thats legit. 20 yrs of loving those teams and never swaying from them. Where is the line crossed? Years of fanhood? Graduated school of parents? Obviously if you attened college there..I see alot of bandwagon fans, jump on when a team is rocking, but someone should love a team when there 10-0 (Tech) contending for NC possibly…lol…or when that team is gradually falling out of contention of anything 5-4 (Cowboys). What makes a fan? # yrs, grad school, raising etc. Apply all aspects.
New England Patriot apparel is non existent in Texas now, last year I saw it on everyone. Same for Dallas, recently everyone stopped. It shouldnt matter what your teams record is…support em.
