Why Cant I Hear Hockey News On The Radio In This Country!?
I live in Dallas Tx, and I always try to get hockey news and hockey talk on the radio but I cant find any sports station that talk about hockey…its all stupid NFL,NCAA football,,NBA!
Anyone else feels my pain??
i have to listen to Montreal radio online, either the Team 990 and CKAC but its french so I only understand a little since I been taking french clases here in Dallas for 4 yrs now and I have a friend from France

I do feel your pain but all is not lost.
First and foremost, you live in Dallas, Texas which is home to an NHL team! A quick internet search and I just found you a radio station which covers the Stars and I’m sure that before, during, and after Stars games there will be plenty of NHL talk. I just listened into 1310 AM in Dallas and they’re talking about the Stars game! Go to: http://www.theticket.com/listen.htm
I’m in a horrible situation, I am a die-hard Vancouver Canucks fan living out here in Rhode Island! I don’t have the money right now to pay for XM Radio or Sirius which of course would solve ALL of your problems as they broadcast NHL Radio. Anyways, back to my point, because I had to figure out a way to cover my Canucks living out here in Bruins & Sabres Country, I started looking for a way to follow not only the games but NHL news.
My solution was right in front of my face! Go to NHL.com! At the top of the website you’ll see all current games being played. Just click on whatever game you want and you’ll be put in touch with the NHL GameCenter. Now at first it looks like it’s something you have to pay for, and in a way you kinda do. But only if you want the ability to be able to WATCH every NHL game online–which by the way is freaking awesome if you think about it! From what I hear the viewer that you download makes the games crystal clear and similar to how movies look on Netflix.com once you download their player. I also went to Google and searched for AM Sports Radio in the six Canadian cities which have a team and I am always able to listen to NHL/AHL games & news!
Okay I’m getting off point, once you click on a game and get taken to the NHL GameCenter screen, you are basically treated to something that is almost identical to what NFL.com offers in that you can “watch” the game stat-by-stat, it will show where every shot was taken from, and sometimes offer up a quick video highlight from said shot, but the BEST part and the whole reason why I’m telling you about this is because NHL.com provides you with a live radio feed from the game as it’s being played. So any game you see being played at the top of the NHL.com homepage, you can go and listen to it being played live.
Just because we live in the U.S. doesn’t mean that we can’t have NHL coverage. 24 of the 30 NHL teams are in the States and there’s daily coverage, if you just know where to look! You have already figured out the key…find AM Radio websites! They almost ALWAYS offer free listen-live function and if you find a station from a city that has an NHL team, then you’ll always be able to find live NHL talk! I do it everyday!
Good luck.
Welcome to America. You can barely get a hockey tidbit on ESPN News. What makes you think an entire program dedicated to the sport would be possible?
It doesn’t sell.
American sports are boring, I know it sucks!!!!!
