I was thinking this exact same thing tonight when he was rambling on and on and on about Tony Romo’s girlfriend woes. Honestly John Madden has lost his touch to the point where it is truly embarrassing. I really think the only reason he has a job is because people do really feel kind of sorry for him in that he seems to have failed to realize that he’s going down hill. That and they respect him for being one of the best coaches in NFL History. Truly though, Madden is the definition of age taking its toll. It’ll happen to all of us.
Cowboys fan. As far as I am concerned, I think that Madden/Micheals is the best tandem of announcers on the air today. Too bad Summerall went away.

I don’t think your dislike is for John Madden,what burns you up is the Dallas Cowboys,an Eagle fan perhaps?if that’s the case then you must love Skip Bayless from ESPN,he hates the Cowboys and Romo.

He’s an idiot, but he’s well known & entertaining.
First of all, Al Michaels is one of the most prominent and respected members of his profession. He has won numerous awards including an Emmy for Outstanding Sports Personality (Play-by-Play Host) five times, the NSSA Award from the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association three times (he was also inducted into their Hall of Fame in 1998), and “Sportscaster of the Year” once each from the American Sportscasters Association and the Washington Journalism Review.
Madden may be a little past his days, but in the 80’s and 90’s he was without peer. He is the only broadcaster to work for ALL FOUR major networks and has won 14 Sports Emmy Awards. One could easily argue that he’s the best football TV analyst of all-time.

His time is coming to an end. Once someone with a big name from the last few years starts getting into the TV video game business.
John Madden was good during his time but ask kids who he is now days or what he did and I would be willing to bet 95% or more wouldn;t know him past his video game series. But when the game started he was around tons more and you still actually heard about his history.
Now the industry just needs someone to replace him. Once that happens (Tiki Barber) John Madden will be history.
I agree with you that Madden needs to be fired. I’m a Cowboys fan, and even though we where winning when the second half started. Madden says Its always a better situation to start the second half with the lead. Really I could have sworn my high school coach told our team, Hey we have to be trailing by 2 touchdowns at the half or we have no shot of winning!!! What a freak en IDIOT
